Muddy Mondays are for students of all skill levels. This class focuses on the fundamentals of throwing: clay preparation, throwing cylinders and bowls, attaching and altering forms, and decoration and glazing techniques. I focus most of my instruction on functional pottery, but I’m always happy to help students explore more decorative and sculptural forms and techniques. Students are encouraged to bring examples of work they're inspired by or called to imitate. I will also focus demo time and 1:1 instruction on other techniques or forms students are curious to learn more about, including: multi-part forms, throwing large, sgraffito, slip decoration, etc… I look forward to welcoming you to our community and helping you expand your capabilities in working with clay!

Price includes $50 materials fee to cover the cost of clay, glaze and firing services. In order to reduce our studio's environmental impact, all courses include 15 lbs of reclaim clay and one flat rate firing and glaze fee. All other clay bodies are still available for purchase in studio.

Adult students must have their own tools. Starter tool kits can be purchased on the first day of class at the studio for $25/kit (plus tax).
