Read more about the instructor here: Meet Our Staff

This course is for any students who would like to learn the basics of using the potters wheel or refine their throwing skills. Lessons will include functional pots such as mugs, bowls, and plates as well as decorative forms. Students interested in going further can work on a variety of techniques from closed forms, to vessels with lids and spouts, to altering and adding hand-built elements to throw pieces. Instruction will also cover the fundamentals of glazing and surface design. Along with weekly demos, the instructor will work one on one with students to help with their projects.

Price includes $50 materials fee to cover the cost of clay, glaze and firing services. In order to reduce our studio's environmental impact, all courses include 15 lbs of reclaim clay and one flat rate firing and glaze fee. All other clay bodies are still available for purchase in studio.

Adult students must have their own tools. Starter tool kits can be purchased on the first day of class at the studio for $25/kit (plus tax).
